Video driver problem (Linux, Sabayon, Mocaccino) on Nvidia ION

Greetings and congratulations (OT: a little sorry that Sabayon has recently been discontinued).

Problem: on an Activa Zepto Sicomputer (Intel Atom 330 1.6 Nvidia ION platform), the installation of Sabayon and Mocaccino (various tested versions) continues correctly, until the “definitive” video drivers are loaded, when the Mivar 22led 1080p connected via hdmi it returns “no signal” in a “flashing” way, as if every second there was an attempt to send an image.

Attempts made: the same behavior also happens when changing TV (Samsung), or connecting the hdmi cable to the dvi output with dvi> hdmi adapter.
Loading the live in Vesa or Safe mode, it can be viewed quietly (even if at a reduced resolution; unfortunately, I don’t think there is a working way to install Sabayon or Mocaccino in this mode).
Trying to install the latest Nvidia ION drivers (for Linux) downloaded from the Nvidia site on live, they are not recognized.

Considerations: the installation of other distros presents the same problem, but it does NOT appear in the Linux Mint 19.x found already installed on the hard disk when buying the used mini pc (the seller does not know what to say). Various Windows versions, including 2000 Professional :-D, do not have this problem (NB: even installing Linux Mint 19.x from scratch, you get the same problem with the drivers).

Perhaps it’s nonsense, perhaps it’s not correct to write about it here, in which case I apologize. But, if you have any advice, I’ll be happy to give it a try.

A greeting.

The last version of nvidia-driver for linux that supports your platform seems to be version 340 that is no longer available in many linux distributions. However the nouveau driver should work.

Thanks so much. On this machine, the video card appears to work only with Windows. I have installed Xp Fundamentals for Legacy Pc. It was a pleasant discovery. I will install Sabayon on the other machine, in dual boot with Windows 2000 Professional. Greetings.

Oh, this problem with the drivers … I’m desperate to find a solution, I think it’s easier for all of us to chip in a couple of bucks and hire developers to create normal drivers. And finding developers is not a problem, at least even according to the guidelines from the network for choosing a contractor for such a case.
